Charles Dickens Sketches By Boz 1850 edition published by Chapman and Hall just 13 years after the first edition of 1837 is for sale.
The Sketches By Boz has a wonderful green contemporary binding, with cloth front and back boards, and leather spine with gilt lettering and decoration. The book measures 5¼ x 7¼ inches (approximately).
The binding is in Very Good condition with corner knocks and edge wear.
There are 303 numbered pages, all edges marble-effect, with matching marbled endpapers to the front and the back of the book. The frontispiece opposite the Title Page is by George Cruickshank.
The pages are in magnificently clean condition for the age of the book being Very Good + and very rare for a book of this age.
